I've got my picks for a case narrowed down to two cases and was just wondering how much leverage people would put into a type c front port? My two picks are the Phanteks Eclipse p500a and the Asus gt501. The gt501 seems to have better build quality, but has no front type c. Just an FYI I can get the gt501 for $15-20 cheaper then the p500a, if that makes a difference in opinion.

I was just trying to get some opinions on it really since it seemed like people really liked having it, but couldn't find info on how convinient it actually is.

I went with the Fractal Meshify 2 which made Gamers Nexus best of 2020 and won best mechanical design. Having a front USB C port didn't really factor into my decision process. I was...

I don't see my self needing a USB-C port for the foreseeable future, so I wouldn't pay extra for one. I still remember the firewire port I never used for 7 years. Should the need arise, I can always buy a card with the port.
Your needs should decide.
Yeah I got an e-sata port on my old case I never used. My motherboard has a type c port, was just wondering about people's on opinions on it being in the front. Couldn't really find any good info online one way or the other.

Use other decision criteria.
If you ever find the need to plug in to a usb-c port on your desktop, you can always buy a hub of some sort.
Here is an example:

I was more looking for a case that had room for a 3090 with room to spare and that had good airflow while also allowing room for a 360mm rad.

The Meshify 2 fit the bill... and it has a USB C in the front which I use for importing video footage from my Evo 2 Pro drone and well as easy connect for my Quest 2 and Reverb G2 VR headsets and iPad Pro.

Needed? Not really. Added convenience? Most definitely. The other USB C port is at the rear of the PC.

Some ppl with a need for full 10Gb/sec type C benefit from not having to climb over or around the pc just to plug it in the rear.

Many current adapters do not have full bandwidth capacity, especially the cheaper versions, as it's shared space with other pcie 3.2 ports, so you get 5Gb/sec capacity. Many adapters do not also carry the full power delivery of the type C 5A@20v (100w possible on some cables), carrying only the 1.5A@5v (7.5w) of USB 3.0 or 3A@20v (60w) of USB 3.2

I ended up picking the gt501, hopefully I don't end up regretting it.
