UBS Port not detecting storage devices

i plugged a go pro hero 4 into my pc, it didn't show up so i assumed it was just the go pro. When i later plugged my phone in, nothing was shown in the file manager and no connection noise was made. I lated used an sd card reader, my pc detected that and the tone that plays when a usb device is plugged in but when i inserted the sd card, nothing happened. I assume it is just storage devices because my keyboard, headset and mouse still work.

Hi.
I have some question for you. What type of case and motherboard do you have? Where you connect the usb device on the front or back ports? Did you try connecting the usb device in another port? You can try plugging it on the back/front ports where the keyboard/mouse are connected to see if the PC detected it.
Please respond if it works and if it doesn't so I can help you with other solution.
