Question Ubuntu MOTD not displayed

Hello,

I'm new in Ubuntu. I installed Ubuntu 19.04. I want to use MOTD feature, so I edited the file with the "nano" command. After i type " cat /etc/motd " , i receive confirmation with what i want the text to be, meaning the content of the motd file. The problem is that the message is not displayed after I open the console terminal , and login into root. Can any one help ?

Solved. I wasn't seeing the message because i opened the terminal from GUI. when I entered a proper virtual console , i received the message.
