So I currently have Windows 8 installed with MBR and I want to reinstall and convert the install to GPT in the process. I have the same ISO I used to install Windows 8 last year and created a UEFI bootable Win 8 install drive. All is well up to this point.

Then I reboot, select the UEFI drive from the boot menu and this is when windows gives me a blue screen. It says "Your pc needs to be repaired" with an error code of 0xc0000225. It tells me to insert recovery media... but it already is recovery media.

I thought maybe my ISO is corrupt, so I downloaded another one using the official Win 8 downloader and created another bootable drive, but this gave me the same error.

Someone help me convert my MBR to GPT install please.

Fixed it. The problem was Rufus, the software I used to create the bootable UEFI drive. I created it manually using command prompt then transferring the files into the drive, manually and it worked.
