Following the White House's plan to spend $19 billion to improve cybersecurity, the UK revealed its own plan to spend 1.9 billion pounds (roughly $2.3 billion USD) between 2016 and 2021 to bolster its own protections.

"This National Cyber Security Strategy is meant to help defend the UK from the growing threat of hacks, mass surveillance, and other digital mayhem...."

This is oxy-moronic, or the pot calling the kettle black.

The UK is one of the most mass-survelled countries (Behind the US), on the planet that has a multitude of ties to questionable 3 or 4 letter agencies.

So what they are really doing is bolstering their own surveillance of their own people, and/or expanding that beyond their own borders.

I wonder if the population of the UK wants so much of their tax dollars spent this way?
