I think it is disgusting that Samsung can get away with calling this an S3 Mini when apart from the software it shares nothing in common with it's bigger brother. The specs and size are that of a phone a couple of years old and they are getting away with advertising it as a new model.

What did you expect ? A mini S3 with the same specs as it's big brother ?
It's not a high end pfone, get over it.

You mean kinda like how the iPad mini came out with with the same CPU as the iPad2, despite the mini being released the same day as the iPad4?

Sometimes "mini" could just mean "smaller."

Samsung are calling it the S3 Mini. Why should I not expect the same or at least close specs to the original S3? The naming is purely to dupe people.
Mini isn't just smaller teh_chem as the phone is completely different. So what is your point?
