Well, so far, so good. Except for those time complaints, anyway. But as
I replied to them, there's only so much I can do. (6am? I'm not even
AWAKE then!)

Anyway, on with the show:

Cast of Characters for 400:
Of the Dark Monks in the environs of Seriss Keep, only this one provides
reliable advice on the trials the Champion of Balance must face.

Ultimanagrams for 400:
Elite, press "N".

The Land of Britannia for 400:
This inlet is home to a vessel whose ship's wheel proved invaluable in
the Fourth Age.

Encyclopedia Britannia, Volume "T" for 400:
This mysterious diviner is not always found among her traveling kin.

In the Big House for 400:
In this dungeon, there are neither guards nor wardens, only the rule of
the strongest inmates.

Mage's Workshop for 400:
In the land of Pagan, this potion is used to restore a portion of the
imbiber's mana.

Have fun, everybody, for tomorrow the last batch of the first round will
be posted!

Sorry, but I had to keep the line free, as I said, and so posted later
than normal.

And even if I do decide to mix it up to give you people on the wrong
side of the globe a better chance, I certainly won't be on THAT early!
My internet time is generally afternoon-evening hours over here.
Overall, about a six-hour window of time.

Besides, I can't change it for you without being unfair to the people
who are on this side of Earth.

No, it was Cape; you get the points.

Yep. Potions do different things over there. Here in Britannia, that's
the awaken potion, if memory serves.

And Helgraf rounds out the set, tenaciously holding onto his
serendipitously-gained lead.

And here we have it: the 500s, finishing the first round of Ultimate
Jeopardy!

Cast of Characters for 500:
This scholar seeks to avert a prophecy which states that his people will
be destroyed by the Avatar.

Ultimanagrams for 500:
Red steam.

The Land of Britannia for 500:
This military stronghold is the antithesis of the castle Bordermarch in
the Fifth Age.

Encyclopedia Britannia, Volume "T" for 500:
Seekers who visit this remote monument find that their intellectual
capacity will improve.

In the Big House for 500:
In this Age, one must go to prison to find Justice.

Mage's Workshop for 500:
The three undocumented spells in the Fourth Age all share this single
reagent.

And there you have it! Tomorrow, I will tally up the Running Totals,
posting who stands where at the halfway mark, and giving everyone a
chance to catch their breath.

Then on Friday, Double Jeopardy shall commence! Regardless of who is
winning tomorrow, the sheer amount of points available - not to mention
two Daily Doubles hidden in there for the taking - can turn EVERYTHING
around!

What is the Sixth Age? Although the item you seek isn't really there,
going to the jail does lead you to it...

What is the Fourth Age?
"Do thy penance in a cell
and with the felon search ye well"

Gate, Resurrect, and ... can't recall the other one. But I'm pretty
darn certain that that other fellow has it right with Mandrake. In U4,
it wasn't undocumented spells, but spells with Reagents that weren't
listed in the Book of Mystic Wisdom.

Now in U5, there are three undocumented spells - Vanish, Transform into
Rat, and Create Food. However, I think Mandrake is still the vital
reagent in question.

I think my last answer was not quite as good as the subsequent post by
someone else, so instead of debating it, I'll answer another question.

Or question another answer, rather...

What is the Tower of Knowledge?

I had to translate the answer in order to be able to ponder the
question.

Mine too -- her banter with Mandrake in the U6 cluebook is
entertaining, too.
