Ultra X3 800watt PSU

On the previous build i have decided to go with the power supply mentioned above due to its complete flat cable and modular design which will make it easier on cable management but am woundering if it will power my system:

If it will not i am still looking to use the Ultra X3 series but would need to know the PSU that would stablizie my system.

The Ultra site does not list the X3 800 watt PSU, the closest is this:

I know nothing about this company. The specs look good on paper, but I have no idea how these PSU's perform in the real world.

For a system using two GeForce GTX 560 Ti graphics cards in 2-way SLI mode NVIDIA specifies a minimum of a 700 Watt or greater power supply that has a combined +12 Volt continuous current rating of 50 Amps or greater and that has at least four 6-pin PCI Express supplementary power connectors.

The Ultra X3 800W (ULT40071), which is a discontinued model, with its +12 Volt continuous current rating of 55 Amps and with its four 6-pin and two 8-pin PCI Express supplementary power connectors, is sufficient for your build.

The Ultra X3 Series PSUs have weak +12V rail(s) relative to reputable name brand PSUs of equal power capacity.

This is a much better choice. With a 62a 12v rail it is more powerful and is MUCH higher quality. Also is modular. 80 Plus Gold certified and only $119 after promo code.

The Ultra X3 800W (ULT40071) was introduced five years ago and was considered quite decent back then. JonnyGuru even gave the X3 1000W model a 9.5 Recommended rating back then.

Most of their PSUs now aren't very good.

Actually most of their power supplies have not been very good with the exception of a few models ( like that 1000w unit ). Really the only reason people bought them was they have a deal with Tigerdirect and they had the patent for modular units. People see the marketing that Tiger does for them and think they must be decent without ever seeing a real review. I had one of the orignal X-Connect 500w models back in the early 2000s and other than the awesome modular cables it was crap.

Thank god they are not the only ones doing modular anymore.

The OEMs that Ultra Products uses like Andyson, ATNG and ShenZhen RuiShengYuan make some horrible models across any brand that uses them.

I can understand the need for a modular setup, but the flat cables? Please, that's just a marketing gimmick. There's no advantage to that kind of setup.

except my mobo being bent due to the fact it covers the hole that the 24 pin is coming out of. unless you have a matx board that can do 2x16 2 sata 3.0 and 6 sata 2.0 ports with adequate spacing on the pcie slots that will allow the needed air flow for the video cards and also suppors 24 gb of memory on a lga 1366 platform. if you know of such a board can i please get a link too it?

if you look at my case and can refer me too a link where i can use a standard psu without all the clutter then please do. i need to make this as clutter free as possible. please someone help i need a solution bad.

Did you look at the power supply I linked to above? Seasonic power supplies are of the highest quality and it is modular.

yes but the 24pin would just do what my antec hcp 1200 is doing right now which is bending the motherboard. i am looking for a solution where there is no chance of the motherboard being bent,like the Ultra X3 series.

all can suggest is to get an individually sleeved extension for your 24pin cable

I'm a bit confused.
Are you building a whole new system or just looking to keep your motherboard from being bent ?
If you're looking to keep the MB from being bent, it would seem ( at least to me ) that keeping the expensive psu you already have and replacing the case would be a better option than buying a new psu.
But hey, if you're getting $90 Azza cases for $20 go with it.

i just want a build where my board is not sitting on top of the 24pin power connector and i am getting rid of the psu because that is too much power for my build and figured that the trade would be fair and those things is what i am looking to use to help with the cable management.

Your link doesn't show any particular product so I can't give you an opinion.

If you don't do any aggressive overclocking of the CPU or GPUs and don't run Furmark or OCCT GPU stress testing then the Ultra X3 800W (ULT40071) should be sufficient for your build.
