[SOLVED] Unable to boot PC with GPU plugged into PSU after random crash!

After a random crash while browsing today, I'm unable to boot my GPU with my PC!
When I try to boot it with it installed. A click from the PSU is heard, then it sounds like the power is flushed from the system.
If I boot it with only one 6 pin and without the 8 pin into the GPU the PSU is found making 3 clicks in succession after a second or so. I just updated motherboard BIOS but am unable to update GPU drivers. Any ideas?
EVGA 970 FTW+
MSI z97 Gaming 5.

Solution
-Psu probably damaged the gpu
-Psu can't supply enough power to the gpu anymore
-Gpu went and died on it's own
Might not be any of the 3, but those are my own conclusions.

Sounds like the system works without it installed - hook it back up though, and... nothing.
