I found the solution. At least for me. Very, very simple. Go to the link on the Microsoft Support site: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/922976 . I simply clicked on the Fix It button and it took about 1 minute. After that I shut down my system. Changed the bios setting to AHCI from IDE and rebooted. Windows started right up the first time, but then asked me to reboot again. I did, and everything is now working perfectly. Hopefully this works for you as well.
