I am new to overclocking and am having trouble, I'm trying to overclock an i5 8600k to around 5ghz using Asus ai tweeker in BIOS , I have looked through a couple of YouTube tutorials but when it comes to adjusting the core frequency, it always drops back to 4.3ghz. any help will be greatly appreciated

System - I5 8600k, Asus Prime H310 Plus, 16GB DDR 4, Windows 10

When you say "it always drops back to 4.3ghz" does that mean it hits 5GHz then drops back?
If so it could be a couple of things.
Your Preferred Power Plan in Windows could be set to 'Balanced' and will push the speed up and down to meet demand.
It could mean your cooling isn't sufficient and the cpu is throttling itself back to prevent damage to itself.
If it's not getting to 5 in the first place we'll need a lot more information on your BIOS settings if you can post it.
