Unable to disconnect from internet!

this is weird, this just started today... when im hooked up to the internet through dial-up its all fine till i right click on the tray icon to bring up the dialog to disconnect.. i clicked disconnect,and nothing!! i tried everything.. the only thing i can do is shut down my system to disconnect then turn on my computer again. And even the shut down is alot slower today... if anyone can help let me know thanks!!

If this just started think about: have you changed anything on your box? updated your browser, downloaded anything from the net, etc? I'll make the assumption that you have a virus scanner that checks everything coming in to your PC and that you keep the scanner current? If you haven't scanned your system start there.
