Unable to make backup after migrating to 840 EVO SSD

I recently, 8 months ago, moved to a Samsung 840 EVO SSD using their Magician software.
NOW (8 months later) I want to make a backup. Keep getting 80780119 errors. tried to make a system repair disc.. but got 080070057 errors.

I bought the old system, a Compaq 6300 with the OS already installed... so I did not get any discs with it.
Anyone able to shed light on how I can make a rescue disc?
