Unable to remove Windows 10 Upgrade Icon

So I was up at Mother's today putzing on her computer and noticed that she still had the Windows 10 Upgrade option in her task bar.

So I went into Windows Update, Clicked on installed updates, scrolled through the list until I found KB3035583, uninstalled that and rebooted the system.

When I went back into Windows Update, I noted it still showed the Windows 10 Upgrade available screen but when I went to check available updates, KB3035583 was listed as available. So I right-clicked that update and selected to hide that update. I rebooted once more and the icon still shows.

Now I did this on my HTPC and it worked like a charm, but for some reason, I just cannot get that off her system. She's running an old MSI Wind PC with a max 2GB of RAM and Windows 7 installed. The system runs slow as molasses in a Minnesota January as it is. Given it's age, I'm sure there are no Windows 10 drivers for this system either.

I didn't want to mess around with trying to take ownership of the GWX folder (or is it GXW?) as it's her only system and if I do screw it up, then I have to replace it (and I can't afford to do that right now).

So. Any thoughts on this?

I have previously used the 'GWX Control Panel' from this link: http://ultimateoutsider.com/downloads/

Works perfectly. It can also check if any W10 Related files have been automatically downloaded and delete them for you

EDIT: Just reread your post. You say that the system is very old however if you could find drivers W10 is much less resource hungry than 7 so you would probably see a performance increase with W10
