I'm using my View sonic XG 2402 144hz as my main monitor which is plugged in with a HDMI 1.4 cable direct to GPU as my DP port on the monitor doesn't work anymore.
I recently bought a Samsung 24" T35F 75 Hz and it has a HDMI port so I have converted it to DP and plugged it to my GPU DP because my GPU (TUF 1660S) has only 1 DP port and 1 HDMI port.
Setup 1:
VIEW SONIC 144hz --> HDMI CABLE (1.4) --> Plugged to HDMI port = Runs on 144hz
SAMSUNG 75hz --> HDMI CABLE (1.4)--> Converted to DP --> Plugged to DP port = Runs on 60hz max
With this above setup I'm able to get 144hz on the View Sonic and only max 60hz on the Samsung.
Setup 2:
VIEW SONIC 144hz --> HDMI CABLE (1.4) --> Converted to DP --> Plugged to DP port = Runs on 60hz Max
SAMSUNG 75hz --> HDMI CABLE (1.4) --> --> Plugged to HDMI port = Runs on 75hz
Does this mean I cannot run on max refresh rate with the HDMI to DP converter?
