Unable to see "Security" tab after selecting "C Drive" Properties

You will only see the security tab if your file system is NTFS, for XP, it may not be as default.

If you want to see My Documents, you can find it in the Documents and Settings directory under your user name.

I would not mess with user rights for the C: drive, that is a good way to make your system not work.

The file system of my C Drive is NFTS
I am also unable to see the "Documents and Settings" folder from my C Drive or from anywhere else.
It's this folder I'm really after after I read on a previous forum reply that I might be able to do so by changing the security settings.
I want to make a copy of my Outlook 2000 PST Personal Folders and Archives. I almost lost them when my system went down a couple of weeks ago so need a copy ... just in case. I found them path-name but when I attempted to use Copy and Paste to the My Documents folder my PC opened the GUI as though it was doing so but there was no file there. ???????

If you are running Windows XP, you should have a Documents and Settings folder, it's not hidden or anything.
If you have Outlook open, it won't copy the file since it's in use.

If you can't see your Documents and Settings folder in the C: drive you have other issues, you said you system went down, what exactly was that?

That should not have done anything with the Windows setup, so when you look in the C:\ drive, you don't see a Documents and Settings directory? How about Program Files, is that there? You are on XP correct?

There is no Documents and Setting folder though there are obviously files within that folder but I can't see them either. I can see the Program Files folder. In fact there are 8 folders.
Spoolerlogs, Symbols, Dell, Temp, Windows, Program Files and b548e64053ebe79a604824f6a458 (whatever that is) I'm running XP Service Pack 3. I do know that I used to be able to see Documents and Settings. Could it be hidden and if so how can I make it visible? Thank you for your assistance.

From Tools > Folder Options > View, you can turn on view hidden folders. That folder should not be hidden, you must have had some other issues with the system if it's not seen.

Not there, in a Windows Explorer view, just open any folder and you can get to there. You may need to hit Alt + T if you don't have the menu bar showing.

Sorry, I don't understand. Menu Bar. Is that where it shows Network Connections and Volume Control etc? Right hand bottom of the screen? If I select Properties there I receive a GUI for Task Bar and Start Menu Properties. Can't see anything to the with hidden files in C:\
