Ok so got my PC back, they have installed windows 7 on my 56 Gig solid state.. The new 500 Gig I had installed is not showing in my computer.

Disk Management shows it as unallocated so Im going to create a volume.

I was wondering whether I should install windows 7 Professional on my new 500 Gig instead of having it kept running on the Solid State which is only 56 Gig. Ideally I would now just keep W7 Pro on the solid state (56 gig) and install all programs and files from now on, on the 500 Gig.

Can I set a path for windows to automatically install on the 500 Gig. There is currently 10 Gig left on the solid state but I am yet to install anything and I have a lot of large programs which I use for work.

To disable Hibernation:
From an elevated command prompt - powercfg -h off

Just Windows shouldn't be using 45+GB. You probably still have hibernate turned on. It reserves an amount equal to what your RAM. Also, the pagefile. You can probably set it to MAX 1024 and MIN 1024. Some people have gotten rid of it entirely.
Keep Windows on the SSD.

As far as installing applications on the 500GB drive. During installation, select Custom or Advanced, and choose a location on the 500. I much prefer to choose the location, rather than try to force Windows into doing it a different way than it thinks it should.
