Hey guys. Im 16 and I think I payed eBay enough money by now. I don't wanna hear "But your using there services its fair they charge". I want to know, since I am under 18 can they legally charge me the amount? I live in America not really sure if that matters. Also I don't want some dirty collection agency coming to my house or really bothering me at all. The fee's seem to be fair at first, but once you start making real money (and spending it too) it adds up to what seems to me a ridiculous amount seeing as how many users they have.

If your parents gave permission for you to have an eBay account then they are responsible for your debts. eBay will pursue the matter with them.

If you obtained the account without their permission then I guess that's fraud.

In the end it very much depends upon which country/state you live in. Laws differ. But, wherever you live, I suspect that a refusal to pay legitimate debts will be recorded on your credit rating. You may think that is unimportant now but, in later life, you will regret this.

Their policy is the same for all ages...it also states that you should only use someone elses account if you are under the age of 18 with parental permission. You don't get any preferential treatment for being younger...

This is correct. In some jurisdictions Ebay can go after you directly, in others they can go after your legal guardians or whomever cosigned the account that you used to pay with.

Be a big boy and pay your debts.
