Hey guys,

I know this thread is very common on here so i'll keep it brief!

I'm attempting to build a gaming pc for roughly under $900, as it is my first build for myself i'm looking for as much advice for the dollar I can get!

so far i've come up with http://au.pcpartpicker.com/p/10YXm

I'm also looking at a new monitor as i've got a benQ 60hz atm.

thanks!

That's a pretty solid build already bro but I'm not sure if your SSD can accomodate your files like music, video, programs and etc.

You could probably squeeze in a 500GB-1TB drive in there?

I've got a seagate 1tb already so that department is all good, the SSD will be for windows and major games. BF4 etc
im looking for possible alternatives etc.

If you can get by on using your old screen, you can subtract it from this:

Is there a reason for a cheaper graphics?

what would the difference be for the i3 - i5? I'm not certain on the rational..
also, would this system deliver the same performance?

thanks!

i5 has 4 cores and better performance. It's the sweetspot for gaming on the Intel side.

However it's more expensive too. It should also have a higher power demand. The i3 is a fine

choice, as it has 2 cores and that's really the minimum for gaming. However thanks to the hyperthreading

the i3 has, it gets an additional 2 "virtual" cores as well and doesn't perform super badly for gaming.

For games, the most important thing is the GPU.

so i replaced some parts of yours:

got a cheaper tower, better psu.. reckon i should get a ASRock B75 PRO3-M for the extra couple of bucks?

I'm not sure on whether the Windows 8 or Windows 7 (obviously 64 bit) should be used.... ive heard of mixed feedback
