Hey everybody, had a quick question regarding my i7 7700k! I'm currently running the CPU @ stock speed with no intention to overclock, while gaming the max temps i'm seeing are around 70 degrees, I wanted to try my best to see if I can drop the temps without having to delid the cpu. I made a post before regarding temps and a few people recommended to undervolt my cpu to drop temps, however after finally trying to attempt this I see that my vcore is set to 1.1190 (Auto) on my Gigabyte Z170X. This already seems fairly low compared to other posts where I see people recommend 1.2v or so is decent for stock apparently? Before I attempt to change this at all, do you think I have room to undervolt or should I just leave it how it is? What numbers should I try testing if at all? Thankyou in advance!

You could always get a better CPU cooler like a Cryorig H7.

The one you have is a budget cooler so you could do better especially if you want to OC in the future.

Delidding is a waste of money and voids the warranty, just one of the current fads going on now. Only really useful if going for MAX overclocks like 5.1 GHz+ and high voltage like 1.4V and above..

Thanks for the quick reply, I know the temp is good but this is while running a game called Black Desert Online - With no other application open, I intend on multi tasking alot and if this temp is what i'm getting right off the bat then I'd like to lower it where possible as I don't wanna task my system too much for when I start doing more than just running a game!

That's NORMAL.

No need to worry or bother with it.

What cooler are you using?

Ok fair enough, I get paranoid easily! Especially after sinking alot of money into a new PC just want to make sure I get the most life out of it, my cooler is a Rajintek Themis
