System:
Ryzen R9 5900X Bios flashed to 3604
Asus Strix E-Gaming x570 Bios updated to 3604 most current.
WD Black SN850 Gen 4 NVMe SSD M.2 1 TB
Samsung 840 2TBD SATA
Corsair Vengeance Pro 3600 Ram 64 GB set to 3600 Mghz
Corsair Hi150i Elite Capellix AIO Cooler.
Corsair AX1200i Power Supply.
Asus Strix Nvidia RTX 2070 8 GB
HTC Vive headset.

So this is a new system. I have noticed that I am getting a number of Volmgr errors, here are the details from event Viewer.

They normally occur when I am playing a game like EVE, and launch Google Chrome in the background to check something. All drivers are up-to-date, as well as my windows update. I don't think I even have a volume 4 on this machine, only an NVMe card, and a SATA drive. Ideas?

i would run this on nvme - https://support.wdc.com/downloads.aspx?lang=en&p=279
and magician on the ssd - https://www.samsung.com/semiconductor/minisite/ssd/download/tools/
check you have latest firmware

vol 4 could be a partition on the nvme

no random restarts? volmgr event 161 seems to tie into system not being able to create minidump files. Have you changed size or location of page file?

I did change the size of the VM, how do I set it back to defaults. I had it set at 16000 and 32000 so I could run Star citizen, but I have just reset it to 8000 and 16000 while writing this email. I also had "automatically manage paging size files" unchecked. Should I change these values and check that box?

Colif, I downloaded the two applications, and it seemed that the WD drive needed a firmware update. I just did that so maybe that was the problem. I will let you know. Thank you for your help.

Thank you for the reply Colif, but I just returned the processor, motherboard, Ram, and M.2 card yesterday. I could not resolve the Volmgr errors. I know it may seem like overkill to return the guts of my system to the vendor, but, after 10 days, I grew weary of constantly troubleshooting a brand new system. Granted, I learned a few things during this build, but if I can't play a simple game like Eve and launch Chrome at the same time, then there must be a problem somewhere.

Also, I was constantly getting USB errors. Even with the 4002 Bios update from Asus. I could not get the system to remain stable. At least for my needs which is gaming. I am not sure now what I am going to do. I may build an Intel system, Maybe with an i9 10900K or i9 10920X. Both of these are 10 Core processors, which may be overkill for games, but I want a system that will last at least as long as did my previous I7 4790k.

Any advice would be appreciated.
