Question:

Is Unick thermal paste OK for a AM2 64 3500+ CPU.

I will be gaming but not Over Clocking.

I've seen it at Dick Smith electronic stores for $4, wheras ArcticSilver is $25.

I can't aford arctic silver,

Thanks,

8O . o O (25 bucks?)

How many grams does it list? I hope that isn't the 3.5 gram tube.. geesh.

I've never heard of Unick thermal paste. If it is white silicone thermal paste, used for electronic's, then yes I would assume (yikes I used that werd) it would... work.

Unick? Never heard of them. Sounds OEM-like, though I could be completely off base...

What about MX-1 from Arctic Cooling? Or Zalman's paste, something like ZM-STG1? Both are excellent, though the latter is slightly better.

Just use the one provided with the cooler.. unless you do extreme OC or really have thermal problem, this is plenty sufficient.

Do you really believe that AMD would be crazy enough to give a 3 years warranty and put some crappy stuff where it matter the most???

any regular thermal paste should do, unless you plan on over clocking you should be fine. besides its not like Athlon 64 are notorious for over heating 😀

 I will be removing the HS/F and CPU, then instaling on another MB.

In that case, get the cheap one..not worth investing on artic silver

ArcticSilver actually does help in lower temps and is a sound investment for a cheap 10 bucks, but 25$ idk man but thats a lil too much, but if you already have low temps you dont really need to worry too much about thermal paste, unless you plan on overclocking

If you really want to spend some money, get the Zalman ZM-STG1...Best TIM.
