Question Unidentified program keeps trying to open.

Something keeps popping up on my taskbar and going away immediately. How can I find out what it is and get rid of it?

Open up Task Manager and see if that mystery app shows up...? You should also check and see if there's anything different about your list of installed apps as well as your startup for the OS. Would also be a good idea to run malwarebytes.

It goes away so quickly that I can't catch it in task manager. I've been uninstalling stuff and disabling starups/services, I just haven't been able to find it.

Try a Clean Boot see if the problem goes away.

No, but I got rid of what it found.

Run malwarebytes again and see if it comes back clean.

If you boot to the desktop and let it sit does this problem happen?

If you boot to safe mode does this problem happen?

Does reliability monitor show any problems?

I found it! I managed to catch it in task manager. It was my wireless lan control manager (WLanMgr.exe) Once I ended the process it stopped. Thanks for eveyone's help.
