I uninstalled Norton with their removal tool by selecting "remove only". Restarted the computer and closed the popup asking to reinstall etc etc.

Ran Ccleaner to wipe Norton out of the registry. Deleted the Norton folder in C:\users\default\downloads. Deleted all Norton folders in C:\users\default (and my account folder)\appdata and subfolders. Restarted and ran Ccleaner again.

There is no shred of Norton that I can find. However in the "startup" tab, there is FSDUI_Custom. I searched it and it is related to Norton. I have it disabled but I'm worried there is a file or folder I missed somewhere. Does anyone have any ideas about this?

Thanks for the suggestion. It worked, that startup entry is gone. I wasn't able to use the "scan" button after uninstalling though to clean up the registry and find other files because Norton required an immediate restart. Once I hit "restart now", the "scan" button un-grayed for a split second before restarting. So I still had to manually delete leftover files and run CCleaner to clean the registry.

Went poking around in Ccleaner and discovered that navigating to Tools > Startup, there are Norton entries in the Windows, Scheduled Tasks, and Context Menu tabs including FSDUI_Custom. I deleted them all and feel confident that Norton is finally purged from all the computers I had it on.
