Hi, I just got a gtx 1050 ti in the mail to replace my gt 730. Before I install, I was wondering what order i should uninstall the current driver and install the new one. For example, should I uninstall the 730 driver, then install the 1050 ti driver, then replace the card? Thanks

Solution
I would recommend uninstalling first. Windows will revert to generic drivers. Then install the card and after booting install the drivers for the new card. Nvidia has a tendency to install a lot of junk, make sure to uninstall all of it first.

Use display driver uninstaller in safemode (install ddu first before entering safemode). Select option to uninstall and prevent windows from reinstalling generic drivers.

Ddu will uninstall then reboot the machine for you. Have the new driver handy.
