Uninstalling Evga driver not working?!

I had bought a 7600gt from Evga. I recently bought a 7900gs from XFX. I am trying to uninstall the drivers from Evga. The first step, so I'm told, is to add/remove the auld drivers in the control panel in safe mode. This I cannot do. Every time I try, I am told that "setup.exe has encountered a problem..."

What is going on?

I had a evga card once and If I remember correctly they had a special insatall\uninstall program on the cd. If you still have the disk try uninstall with that. Also Ive never had to goto safe mode to uninstall. I currently have a 7600 gs that I upgraded the drivers to this morning just using the control panelto remove reboot then install.

if the first post doesn't work go to Nvidia's site and download Drive Clearner Pro. it's free and will remove everything about a driver. As a matter of fact, i use it even after unintalling a driver and it takes out more. ... oh btw, did i mention ... it's free?
