Uninstalling IDE ATA/ATAPI controller driver

Is it safe to do this? It's under my device manager. I downloaded that slim drivers software and I think it gave me an incorrect driver. There is nothing wrong with my computer but I'd rather just make sure that nothing bad goes wrong in the future. It seems that the driver should reinstall itself without any problems based on some google searches but I am still reluctant to do this.

Solution
go to control panel>device manager and find your device.click on properties and click uninstall.restart your computer and it will automatically detect the device and install drivers.and just to add, stay away from 3rd party driver updaters.its always best to update from your manufacturers websites.
