Unknown AMD processor

Hi friends,

My motherboard is Pegatron ap480 s is supporting my processor phenom iix4 955 and showing all the specs. properly such as 3.2ghz, cache memory etc. but stating the processor as unknown AMD processor in bios as well as in system properties.

the system is working properly and if i continue using it like that, does it make any problem for the cpu or mobo.??
(I tried and cant find the updated BIOS version, i think it is not available for that model now).

No problem for the CPU, no problem for the mobo. It is simply that the BIOS is lacking some info to display the data.

If you use a dedicated software to display such data, like CPU-Z, for example, it will show you the precise info, regardless of BIOS.

all that means is that the BIOS does not have the CPU's microcode (like the ID card for the CPU) and therefore cannot report that the microcode equates to a 955. no danger to anything if the BIOS cannot ID the chip

thanks a lot, I have two 2gb ddr2 sticks, & i want to add 2 more.. is it okay..? and does my motherboard support GT 1030 graphic card i currently have.??

should be no problems. mixing ram is never a guarantee. test the RAM with memtest86 for a few passes to verify all the RAM will work together properly.
yes the 1030 will fit and work fine
