hello! i have a intel pentium n5030 and i want to get better performance using it since the 6w power limit seems to be bottlenecking the performance really hard and ive seen it not be so laggy when the short term power limit kicks in at 12W but unfortunately that only lasts for a few seconds and i want it to run as smooth as possible since the gpu and cpus speed gets limited (1.8 ghz or less on the cpu even during a single core load)
i have a asus x543 laptop and it doesint matter if the temperatures get hotter since the fan inside it is really quite since the tdp is so low and i wouldnt mind a loud pc

Solution
That processor is designed for office duties, what sort of tasks are you demanding the laptop to do that's warranting you to push a crippled processor? In most cases the issue is that you have hardware that don't meet your needs.

well even running a video in 1080p it lags and sometimes even a little bit of reddit could cause it to get throttled by the power limit but i do play a little minecraft on it

@shaunegaming
Have you tried using ThrottleStop to increase the TDP? I was helping a user the other day with a similar N5100 and he had no problem increasing the power limits. It should support your N5030. Post some ThrottleStop screenshots if you need help.

XTU does not support Intel's low TDP CPUs. ThrottleStop does support them.

It is easy to go from 6W to 12W as long as a manufacturer does not set the lock bit, With adequate cooling, this can improve performance significantly.
