Unlocking CPU cores

I saw this video on Youtube, is this real or a joke? He goes on to unlock dormant cores and double his core count.

The guy is taking the mick, hes posts all sorts of fake stuff on you tube as a gag.

Look for his video on how to double your internet speed by joining two Ethernet cables together and using a bit of tin foil.
The guy is a complete ass !

The way he explains things is completely wrong, yes you do have 8 Physical cpu cores, but you also have 8 threads where each physical core can switch between two tasks each.

A thread is not a physical cpu core, it is getting one cpu core to perform two tasks by rapidly switching between the two tasks.

I mean seriously....🙁
Always take a look around to determine whether a source is reputable or not, helps a lot in determining how accurate the speculated information is.
