I was installing windows for a friend on his SSD and my arm hit the SATA cable and disconnected. There was an old OS in it and now I'm afraid that the hard drive is corrupted or something like that. The OS on the HDD wasn't running when I disconnected the cable. Now I can't verify because the Windows installer is not running.
Will be any damage to the HDD or it will be fine?

Solution
The number one rule when you are installing an OS to a new drive is - disconnect all other drives.
Best thing to do is disconnect your new SSD and try to boot the OS on the HDD.
Then if it is successful follow the above rule for installing the OS on the new SSD.

its fine. you only damaged the data inside. and windows most likely isnt bootable anymore. so first thing to do is attach that drive as ssecondary. copy what files you can retrieve in there. hook it back in. and boot the installer and delete partitions. format. proceed with install.
