Over the last month or two I have been experiencing my wifi dropping out randomly more and more often. Unplugging the gateway seems to help, but only for a short time if at all. My connection also seems to drop on occasion which didnt happen in the past. It seems to be getting worse over the last week or two, and I even had issues just trying to access online menus on my PS4 earlier (which is hardwired). Nothing but the PS4 and maybe my phone was actively on an in use. My PC is also connected via ethernet and also drops on occasion. Based on some preliminary research, it sounds like the most likely culprit is some bad cabling somewhere near by. I do not have a spitter, the cable is plugged directly into the gateway from the wall, and I'm pretty sure my cable is brand new. I live in an apartment (the kind that most likely used to be a single home, not a big complex), so I'm unsure if I should contact maintenance first or my provider. I dont want to get stuck paying fees if its the apartment's wiring (I have RCN if anyone is familiar with them, not sure what their policies are like).

I have an Arris SBG 6700-AC which isn't even a year old. I have posted the event log for the last few weeks below:

No harm in swapping out the cable between wall outlet and router - especially if you have another known working cable to use in the swap.

Do you know where the cable serving the wall outlet originates? Can you trace the cable looking for signs of damage: corrosion, rodent chews, kinks, hard bends, embedded nails/staples.

Or maybe even some splitter along the path to your apartment.

If no problems noted then call your ISP.

I don't think I even have another cable to be honest. I can always get one if I have to, but if I have one its an old, kinda rusted looking one that was there when I moved in. I tried looking for cable issues elsewhere, but as far as I can tell it runs down the wall, either outside or to my downstairs neighbor then outside and into the laundry room. The door wasnt working last night so I'll have to check in there the next time I can get in. Everything i can see inside the apartment looks perfectly clean and in good condition.

There is another cable outlet in my room, I may try that instead (not that I really want to be that close to a device pumping out wifi signals but thats just me being weird lol). I can also try removing the outlet and going right to the wall cable, since its just a double sided coaxial plug.

Does this mean I was correct that the codes I'm getting suggest coaxial cable issues?
