I recently got some memory from a friend who works at the manufacturing plant for a huge discount. I got 2 4gb DDR3-1600 modules.
Now, the problem is that the motherboard I'm looking to buy (Gigabyte GA-Z87-UD3H) to house these sticks does not explicitly support this brand, Avant - and a quick Google search tells me that most others don't, either. I suppose it's just an obscure brand. Now, I know that just because the motherboard site does not state outright that a specific type of memory is supported doesn't mean it isn't, but I just want to make sure I don't need to go get some more memory.
From what I've gathered from the Avant site, these are the specifications for the RAM I have:
CAS Latency 9
1.5 V
DDR3-1600 UDIMM
Will there be any foreseeable issues with these sticks? From what I can tell, they'll work, but it seems like it's a gamble.
