Unusual problem with USB WIFI adapter!

Hi, I have a usb wifi adapter which was working fine since a couple of weeks. I am currently in a place with frequent power cuts and I don't have my modem connected to a UPS now. The problem is this stupid USB wifi adapter is not detecting the net connection sometimes after the power comes back and the modem restarts. This this just the problem with the adapter cause every other gadget of mine is detecting it. So I run between the desktop and modem, restart them simultaneously and it stays that way for sometime. I guess this is because of this USB wifi adapter but is there a simple way to fix this fast? Thank you for reading....

Well if you're truly on XP (and have not posted in the wrong forum) right click the wireless icon and click veiw wireless networks. Then click refresh network list. Reconnect to the appropriate wireless network, if needed.
