Update before installing OS on SSD?

İ have a samsung 850pro 512gb ssd that i want to use as my system drive. The question is should i update the Firmware using the Samsung Magician tool for a more stable OS installation or does it have an effect at all?

Samsung recommends a backup of files before a firmware update in case something goes wrong to be on the safe side.

Ive used the firmware updater on my ssd with windows installed already and was fine.

Just a precaution, doubt anything would happen but there's always that slight possibility.

If you can update it before installing windows, do that.
