Hope I posted this in the right place. The system I built about 8 yrs ago will not support Windows 11 so I guess I need to update. I want to build a system that will handle windows 11 and possibly not need upgrading for another 8-10 yrs. Probably won't be around past that because am 75 yrs old. Ha ha. I mostly use for browsing the internet and playing first person sniper games. Would be grateful for any advice on systems that will fit the bill. Would like to stay away from water cooled and have usable optical bays and provision to add additional USB slots. Don't like the rainbow lights I see on most cases. Don't want to have to morgage the house for the build. Thanks for any advice you might provide.

First of all, your pc will not die when W10 support runs out.
You will simply not get new features.

Is your pc performance otherwise satisfactory?
Do you have a budget?
List the make/model of all of your parts, it is likely that many can be reused.
All that said, life is too short to have a slow pc.
If you have the funds, an upgrade will be very satisfying.

Thank you for your reply. I have some memory problems and will have to pull the computer out of its cubby hole and see what I can find. All I remember at this time is that the case is a Cooler Master 500 HAF and I put an aftermarket Graphics card in it. Will look and update.

It would be helpful if you could tell us what games you do or are preparing to play? If you are worried about Win10 for security reasons, then Win11 would be wise. Any recommendations will heavily lean on the compute power you need (games essentially). Also, if you are looking for much greater visual or performance in said games. For example, are you interested in getting a larger, faster or higher resolution monitor?

Gururu, Thank you for your reply. I play Sniper Ghost Warrior series and several other. I would like to be able to buy a game and not have to worry I have enough PC to use it. Would like to upgrade to Windows 11. Have an ASUS 24 inch that says HDMI on the bezel. I did find this info. Mother board is AUSTeK Z170 DELUXE, CPU is Intel Core I5-6600K CPU @ 3.50GHz 64 bit OS, X64 based processor, RAM 16GB, Video card is NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970, and I put the enclosed STRIX sticker on the side. Will update the PSU when I haul it out and am able to look at it. Gave you bad info on case it looks like I have the HAF 912 after I looked at cases on the net. Got confused having looked at so many. Does have the slots to put DVD which I have and I also put another strip of USB plug ins on the front. Still have at least 1 more slot.

Thank you for your reply. Need to keep it under $1000 if I can. Located in Texas, USA. Don't understand resolution.
