Update version 1511, 10586 won't install

I apparantly downloaded update 1511 but windows won't install it. I can go to the update menu and select a good time to update or restart now, or I can select update and restart from the start menu but whenever I do it just reboots my laptop.
I've looked all over google, but nobody seems to have this problem, what can I do?

try downloading Windows 10 Media creation tool, create a win 10 install USB or DVD (its just nice to have)
run the setup program on the USB and it should update you to latest version using USB.

if it doesn't, back up everything you want to keep and do a fresh install using the installer you made.
