I decided to update my network drivers on my custom built gaming pc last Monday. Since then, I've had no internet access and can't find a fix. I'm running on windows 10 64 bit, with an MSI Z170 Gaming M5 mobo and Killer E2400 Gigabit Ethernet Controller as the current driver. I downloaded it through MSI Live Update and when prompted to restart my computer as it finished installing the driver, I did and when it restarted, no Internet access. I have also noticed that I have no IP address or DNS info when viewing my properties in the "change adapter settings" area. I've been troubleshooting for 2 days with zero success. And I don't remember how to install the original network drivers from my mobo installation disc. The guide doesn't tell you how. Please help. I don't enjoy having a $1500 brick.

Solution
Are you getting any specific error messages?

Did you run "ipconfig /all" from the command prompt to verify the network configuration settings?

Make sure that the ethernet cable is correctly and fully plugged in. Try another known working cable.

Did you enable the built-in motherboard network adapter - be sure that you have disabled it and enabled the Killer E2400.

Download the network adapter card drivers from Killer. Reinstall and reconfigure for your network.
