[SOLVED] Updating BIOS on the MSI B150M PRO-VHD for a new CPU...

I want to buy a better CPU since I have an rtx 2080 and an i5-6400 and I just now figured out that the i7 is not compatible with my mobo. I really don't wanna get into switching my mobo but I would want a better CPU for streaming purposes. I've read about BIOS updates that might support something more than just an i5-6600 but I don't really understand it. Is it possible for me to get a noticeably better CPU on this mobo or is the only way out a new mobo and a newer gen processor?

Any 6th or 7th (after BIOS update) gen i7 will work with your mobo.

I just checked the BIOS and it's version 3.6 from 2016... So just updating it to the latest (7982v3H Release Date: 2018-07-13) according to the website should be enough? And if I update them the current CPU will work the same way as it previously has?
