Hello everyone,

First time posting in this forum since I feel I am at a point I need some expert advice/cumulative brain power from the internet. Fingers crossed :)

I have an Alienware Aurora (bought around in 2014ish) that has Dual AMD Radeon R9 270 with 4GB (2 x 2GB) GDDR5 - Crossfire Enabled

It seems to be running fine from a hardware perspective (it runs most productivity apps just fine and most games I play on medium graphics settings), although it has started showing its age. That said, I feel it can do much better if I was able to update its display drivers to the latest version. Below are some other specs for the machine.
  • CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4820K Pro c (4-cores, 10MB Cache, Overclocked up to 4.2 GHz w/ Turbo Boost)
  • RAM:16GB Quad Channel DDR3 at 1600 MHz
  • OS: Windows 10 Pro (21H2)
Right now, I have the following graphics drivers: https://www.dell.com/support/home/e...&oscode=wt64a&productcode=alienware-aurora-r4

I have tried to install the latest drivers directly from AMD (https://www.amd.com/en/support/prev...es/amd-radeon-r9-200-series/amd-radeon-r9-270), but the installer seems to stop in the middle reporting "something has gone wrong".

My guess is that it has to do with the fact that it needs an OEM driver instead (but I might be wrong).

Given this, I wanted to ask if there is a way to upgrade the device drivers for these cards.

Thanks for the support.

It worked ! Thank you Sir ! You are awesome !

(I had to go through a few moments of panic where both my monitors turned blank and then had to start the machine in recovery mode followed by safe mode and do a clean uninstall of the drivers as described in the forums. )
