I have recently finished a rebuild and added a new ssd. I am wondering about upgrades I can do for the rig but mostly the CPU. I've read overclocking it (i5-3570k) with proper cooling is fine, but I think it has always ran stock and with stock cooler always. (I say I think because I've had different people help me with the rig overtime so not sure of overclocking )

I recently noticed a drop in performance especially in CSGO, I usetoo run 200+ fps no problem, now I drop to 30-115. I wonder if there is something wrong with my cpu / should I upgrade/ should i overclock. also pubg is unplayable, before it had no problem.

Thanks in advance

You might want to run the benchmark here and share a link to your results page, as it may indicate whether a particular component is underperforming...

If the CPU is significantly underperforming, you should check whether it might be overheating. It could be that the CPU cooler has come loose, or its fan could have failed, causing the CPU to throttle its performance to keep temperatures within safe limits.
All hardware starts to slow down as the bloated software continues to bloat and become more and more inefficient and/or demanding. Hence why we're having to upgrade constantly.

That being said, you can eek out a bit more with a gpu upgrade and maybe a mild overclock. I don't know if that will solve the fps issue, but it definitely will remove hardware as being an issue.

it can't be gpu because I upgraded from a 660ti, and I had the same fps +200 before something happend one day

This is the benchmark with both sets of ram:

UserBenchmarks: Game 37%, Desk 68%, Work 39%
CPU: Intel Core i5-3570K - 66.3%
GPU: Nvidia GTX 1050-Ti - 33.5%
SSD: Samsung 860 Evo 500GB - 111.5%
HDD: Seagate Video SV35.6 Series 1TB - 82.9%
RAM: Kingston 99U5402-461.A00LF 04CD F3-12800CL9-4GBXL 99U5402-461.A00LF 04CD F3-12800CL9-4GBXL 16GB - 50.8%
MBD: MSI Z77A-GD55 (MS-7751)

Nothing obviously wrong stands out to me in those benchmarks. All the components appear to be running more or less as they should.

It's possible that heat could be building up in the system over a matter of minutes though, potentially causing thermal throttling that might not appear soon enough to be reflected in those tests. Have you had a look at the temperatures of your CPU and graphics card while the game is running? It might also be worth checking that all of the CPU, GPU and case fans in your system are spinning while you are gaming.

Aside from that, it might be software related, particularly if you have any applications running in the background while gaming, like a web browser, for example.

how do I test temp while gaming? what's a safe program

Did you really pay 300 s for a i5 3570? thats alot for a cpu that old. you could have gotten a system with new parts for the same price.
It sounds like they've had this processor for a while, and were just listing the specs on PCPartPicker so we would know what they had, for recommendations on whether they should replace or overclock the CPU. I doubt they would have bought it fro that price recently. And it seems their recent performance issues are down to their cooler not being attached properly or otherwise not working.

correct. I put in a cooler master 212evo and it seems to have fixed the issues, I just need to tweak my system to overclock my cpu just a tad, other than that everything seems back to normal
