Updating the bios with a specific usb drive.

So I recently bought a USB sandisk ultra with 16gb of memory, and I was wondering if i can use it as a bootable drive only one time?

If it's the GA-Z77M-D3H dont flash beta bioses. The last 2 BIOS updates are beta BIOSes.

They're buggy. Also make sure you download the right BIOS for the right revision. Since there's a revision 1 and 1.1

The revision should be etched on the motherboard

And there is a problem. Now the rev 1.0 looks like mine except for the pcie Connection is not like that, it is like the second one on the motherboard.

It says 1.0, but the pcie connector is not the same..

And a silly question but what is DOS? I've searched on google and i do not understand what it is. The only thing i know it stands for Disk Operating System

You bought a USB stick with built in encryption.
This may not work for what you are trying to do.

Once you get there you'll know. Its like the command prompt in windows, but you boot into it

Ok well if thats the mobo thats the mobo lol. Download BIOS F13 extract / dbl the exe file it should extract whats in it.

Then as above use rufus to make a bootable dos flash drive

Then copy the files you extracted to it. Reboot change the bootdisk to the flash drive. Boot from it

It should boot into DOS. Then type in autoexec.bat to flash the BIOS

I do not Think its built in, but sandisk has a program pre installed on it which is encrypted there, i can still drag n drop there without having to enter anything, but idk if i should put the files into the encrypted program or just drag n drop via "this computer".

Overall, what does the directions for this BIOS upgrade say?
Specifically, what procedures does it say to do?

The non betas ones (latest no beta) says some cpu optimizations i Believe. And dont worry, ive contacted both sapphire and gigabyte and they both said "update your mb".

I didn't mean should you do it yes/no.

I meant HOW to do it.
You pretty much have to do it exactly as they say to do it. You risk completely bricking the motherboard if you just wing it.

I misunderstood you, I thought you wanted to know how to do it, I know already, I've read it few times and i still will when i do it, so i am 100% safe

I still wouldnt flash a beta bios. They can cause probs inc looping when you turn the system on.
