Hi, for now I use the following components together with latest Windows 11 on a Kingston NVME + 1TB SSD.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X
CPU cooler: Noctua NH-U9S
Motherboard: MSI B550-A PRO (MS-7C56)
Ram: 32GB G.Skill 1600.0 MHz (DDR4-3200 / PC4-25600)
SSD/HDD: KINGSTON SA2000M81000G + CT1000MX500SSD1
GPU: MSI RTX 3070 VENTUS 2X OC, 8GB DDR6 RAM
PSU: be Quiet! Straight Power 11 PC Netzteil ATX 650W BN282 (3,5 years old)
Chassis: forgot name (a nice black one with 3 fans, about 150$ back then)
OS: Windows 11 Pro 23H2
Monitor: BenQ EW3270U

Most games run fine, but Cyberpunk struggles with Rendering in 4k. Alan Wake 2 cant be played flawless in 4k on max.

The budget would be 2500 $ and Im aware I could buy a new PC instead and safe up for a highend graphics card then.
But maybe there are cheaper ways to make Cyberpunk run rendered @60FPS?

MSI says CPU maximum would be Ryzen 9. Matisse, Vermeer? Gen 2 or 3?
Would there be any limitations and/or known problems to keep in mind? Which to avoid?

Even if supported, would a Ryzen 9 PRO 3900 a real improvement on this mainboard? Or would a new mainboard make more sense instead? (bottleneck)

This is where I already struggle searching.

For sure there is faster RAM out there, but which would be in full harmony together with this board and would it be really make much of a difference,
compared to my G.Skills?

A Samsung NVME sounds good to me.

The graphics, what would be an overkill on this board, what would you suggest to buy?
A GeForce RTX 4090 with 25gb of GDDR6X RAM sure sounds fun, but already messes with my budget. ;)

Thank you in advance!

If you have that much money to spend, you're better off going with an AM5 platform, instead of drop it onto the AM4 platform listed above.

If you have a hole burning in your pocket and really need to upgrade your AM4 platform, I'd look into;
Ryzen 5 5800x3D, a dual channel DDR4-3600Mhz with tight latencies, that would bring the best out of your Ryzen platform, provided you have the latest BIOS update on your motherboard.

One other thing is to list your current specs like so:
CPU:
CPU cooler:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
Chassis:
OS:
Monitor:
include the age of the PSU apart from it's make and model.

This would be the obvious cpu upgrade on your current platform. btw what are your psu specs (make/model and age)?

Thank you so far.
I updated my initial post.

My 1st thoughts were to just exchange the CPU and the GPU with something (really more) powerfull and not spend all of the money on (many) new components.
Or, avoid buying a new PC. :)

Knowing Id still be on DDR4 then (omg) ;D this, the bottleneck thoughts kicked in.

For now its just about Alan Wake 2 and Cybperunk, that Id liek to enjoy on 4k rendered. Beeing aware a RTX 3070 wasnt made for this. (or vice versa)

Looking forward to the future, I always loved upgrading single parts "back in the days", until "it was over".

Would it really be a bad idea, to go for a 4090 and choosing the max CPU on my current board?

If your going to start going up you might want to add a psu to your shopping list.

A 650w is not going to cut it.
