I play GW2, Skyrim, and run Plex as a 24/7 video server. I built this pc back in January ’14 and it hasn’t been off for more than a week total during all that time.
Should I:
upgrade i5-3350p to i7-3770k (increasing the ram as well)
OR
build i7-6700k pc (much improvement?)
OR
wait for a greater difference in performance?
I currently have: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/rqVHpb
CPU: Intel Core i5-3350P 3.1GHz Quad-Core Processor ($225.00 @ Newegg Marketplace)
Motherboard: Asus P8H77-I Mini ITX LGA1155 Motherboard
Memory: G.Skill Sniper Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1866 Memory ($48.99 @ Newegg)
Storage: Samsung 840 Series 500GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($249.89 @ OutletPC)
Storage: Western Digital WD Purple 3TB 3.5" 5400RPM Internal Hard Drive ($99.98 @ Jet)
Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 970 4GB Video Card
Case: Lian-Li PC-Q08B Mini ITX Tower Case ($101.99 @ SuperBiiz)
Power Supply: SeaSonic 650W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply ($59.99 @ Amazon)
Optical Drive: Asus DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS DVD/CD Writer ($18.88 @ OutletPC)
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 Home OEM 64-bit ($88.58 @ OutletPC)
Thanks for any input!
