Hello everyone, after researching, I found CSGO (Source Engine Generally) is CPU Intensive.
So this is My PC:
Intel Pentium G2020
GTX 550 Ti 1GB DDR5
4GBs of RAM

and I wanna play CS:GO Mainly on my PC. I'm getting lag and low fps cuz of my CPU and GPU.
So I currently can upgrade one of these: CPU or GPU.
CPU to i5-2400 OR GTX 550 Ti to GTX 750 Ti
Because of Limited Budget, I can only upgrade one at the moment. (Source is CPU Intensive, But I heard GPU gives better performance in upgrading).
So, Which one Should I upgrade first to improve FPS in CSGO? CPU to i5-2400 OR GTX 550 Ti to GTX 750 Ti?

CS: GO Recommended System Requirements

  • CPU: Intel Pentium Dual-Core E5700 3GHz / AMD Phenom 8750 Triple-Core
  • RAM: 2 GB
  • HDD: 15 GB of storage space
  • GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GT 630 / AMD Radeon HD 6670
  • OS: Windows 7
  • DirectX: Version 9.0c
  • Screen Resolution: 1080p
  • Network: Broadband Internet Connection
The GPU you have is 50% faster than the recommended Radeon 6670. https://www.anandtech.com/bench/product/613?vs=541
Your CPU is also far faster than the recommended as well. Going to an i5-2400 would be a big upgrade for multi-threaded applications, but only minor for single-threaded applications. What OS are you using? I have a feeling that a large problem is the 4GB RAM you have. Could you afford to go to 8GB RAM and a CPU upgrade? Since your CPU is Ivy-Bridge, could you afford an i5-3XXX?

OS Windows 7 SP1
If Upgrading to i5-2XXX/i5-3XXX gives me noticeable performance boost in CSGO, I will upgrade cpu.
