[SOLVED] Upgrade CPU Intel or amd?

I 've been thinking on upgrading my CPU for a while. I had chosen ryzen 5 3600 but some videos I saw lately about i5 9500 gave me some second thoughts. The pc is for gaming. Motherboard and ram will be bought together with the CPU. Which CPU do you believe is better? In Greece they have the same price.

With the Ryzens you have options on motherboard choice. Intel mobo's are somewhat lacking unless opting for a nice Z390. Ryzens also don't suffer from lack of threads that the Intel can in some games. Lack of OC potential means being basically stuck for stock clocks/voltages/turbo.

3600 is very close in games but the ryzen 5 will be much more future proof and will have a better upgrade path.

if just gaming PC, i think i5 9500 is the winner.
the 3600 is the sweet spot for mix between gaming and productivity.
