Upgrade CPU or GPU in the future

Hi, I currently have an i5 4590 cpu and a 970 gpu, and I was wondering would it be better to upgrade my gpu or my cpu for gaming? (I'm kinda asking this for info)

Both are pretty solid for gaming right now. If you wanted to go 4k you would need some upgrades. DO you have any issues with games, or goals?

If you only use your pc for gaming i should go with a gpu as 980/980ti or any titan card but if you are planning to do things like making videos and stuff i would go with an i7 cpu

For a real upgrade the best would be gtx 980 ti/fury x. Nothing worse is worth the price difference

Ok what is it your current pc is not doing? Are you wanting to game at 1440p 144Hz or 4k? Anything less there is no point upgrading

Actually. there would be a point.

A 980 ti on 1080p example on gta v, it can barely get 60fps with the game tottaly maxed out. Imagine on games like star citizen or assassins creed syndicate...

So no, 980 ti isnt overkill for 1080p.
