Upgrade CPU, RAM, MOBO

I currently have a Gigabyte h97-Gaming 3 Mobo, a i5-4590, and g.skill ddr3 8 gigs of ram. I have a 1070 but I doubt that is important. I would like to get the new ryzen cpus, 16 gigs of ddr4 ram. What would be the cheapest way to upgrade to that. Cpu wise I'd like to increase the number of cores and clock speed a bit but no need to be over-kill any suggestions? Also as I assume I have to change MOBO what would be the best and cheapest option.

Purely for gaming? You might just get better value by either sticking with your Intel i5 or upgrading to an i7-4770.

Or do you do anything else besides playing games?

I agree, another 8gb ram and an i7-4770/4790 would be a much better use of your dollars

Content creation (Photoshop, after effects, etc) I want to stream but that is the ideal situation money comes first

RYZEN 5 processors don't seem to be better than Haswell i7's in games, so easier and cheaper for sure.
