Upgrade for HD6950

I have recently started gaming again but my GPU is a little behind time now. Can anyone recommend a suitable GPU upgrade please? Below is my current setup.


CPU: AMD FX(tm)-8150 Eight-Core Processor (8 CPUs), ~3.6GHz
RAM: 16gb (x4 4gb)
PSU: 850W
Motherboard: Asus M5A99X EVO 990X SOCKET AM3+ CHANNEL AUDIO ATX

Total budget of around £250, but can go slightly higher

Really depends on the titles/resolution you play....

The 8150 is likely to hold back really strong GPUs in a lot of cases, so I wouldn't splurge too much on a GPU.

Stepping up from a 6950...... I'd look to something around a 1050TI if gaming at 1080p.
About a £135 investment.

Of course, you could go stronger, but it's going to depend on the title/resolution etc. And I'd expect you'd need to push a decent(ish) OC from the 8150.

With a 250 budget, a 6GB 1060 and a 4GB RX580 are within budget

But whether or not those make sense for your uses...... really depends on your uses.
