Upgrade from 280x

Looking to upgrade from my artifacting Asus 280x not sure what to get but wanting to go Nvidia for a change and would prefer not Asus. Has to be able to run latest games at high/ultra. Also looking to change the power supply.

Budget is up to $500 for both if i can.

8gig ram
Gigabyte Z68A-D3H-B3
Xsonic 700w PSU

depends where you live but in Australia the 970 is $499 and is better than the 280x but i need to know your country first to tell so yeah
